Take part in Walk the World
29 mei 2011

From Australia to Switzerland, from Brazil to Samoa in the Pacific Ocean, on Sunday May 29, across all time zones, as many people as possible will be walking a 5 km. walk; the average distance that a child in a developing country walks from home to school.

Walk the World is a worldwide sponsor walk to raise money for a good cause.

This year Walk the World will be organised by the SpijkKids Foundation in Spijkenisse. By registering and walking along you will support the World Food Programme in their battle against undernourishment among children. Registering costs 6 euros. This includes a free Walk the World T-shirt!

Register yourself here, walk along and contribute to the World Food Programme!

Performances by Do, Lenny, and many more

Of course SpijkKids is not only organising the walking part; it promises to become a fantastic event with performances by Do and Lenny (The Voice of Holland).

And Re-play, New Timeless, Jack Cross and the U2 cover band In The Name Of will also make an appearance. Even Radio 538 will be there!

Look here for the programme. The location of the Event is: Maaswijkweg in Spijkenisse (near footballclub Spijkenisse). Click here for a map. There you will also find a route planner (fill in your address (A) and press the button "Routebeschrijving")

World Food Programme
Walk the World is an initiative by the World Food Programme and its main partners Unilever and TNT Express.

The World Food Programme is the logistics arm of the United Nations and the world's largest humanitarian aid agency. Every year WFP feeds together with its partners over 100 million people in over 80 countries worldwide. In major disasters, they are the first responders on the ground and they take care of the distribution of food and other supplies with the goal of most efficient care.
